Plusieurs comédiens ont travaillé avec Samuel Beckett, notamment Roger Blin, qui a interprété des rôles dans plusieurs de ses pièces et a également été metteur en scène de ses œuvres.

D'autres acteurs ayant travaillé avec Beckett incluent Georges Adet, André Julien et Germaine (de) France, Pierre Chabert et Buster Keaton, des acteurs et metteurs en scène pour Beckett, ayant joué dans ses films.

Une attention particulière est attribuée à Roger Blin, acteur et metteur en scène français, est connu pour sa collaboration étroite avec Samuel Beckett et pour avoir mis en scène les premières mondiales des premières pièces de Beckett.  Blin a rencontré Beckett en 1948 et fut le premier à mettre en scène En attendant Godot, la mise en scène de Fin de partie (1957) et La Dernière Bande par Blin sont encore largement reconnues aujourd'hui. Aujourd'hui, sa manière de production d'En attendant Godot rejoint le répertoire de la Comédie-Française à Paris.

 Leur collaboration a donné lieu à une amitié durable.

‘I read it at once without understanding it very well, but I felt a kind of mysterious voice which shook my natural laziness, which said it must be put on and I must direct it, I absolutely must. I proposed it to associates who didn’t want to do it. I took it to a number of theatre managers in Paris — they laughed in my face.’ In 1950 Blin first met Beckett — ‘We liked each other at once.’ Meanwhile he had found friends willing to work with him on the play: ‘Beckett himself hadn’t seen his characters really in writing them, he had heard their voices but hadn’t visualized them, so it fell to me to choose the actors and, among them, those who liked the play and to find those also who would work without being paid and without hope of performing it.’
